1) “Viva Las Vegas” (1964), 8 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies. A 24-hour Elvis Presley marathon starts at 6 a.m., It offers a couple zestful concert films – “Elvis on Tour” (1972), 2 p.m.; “Elvis: That’s the Way It Is” (1970), 10 p.m. — and lots of scripted ones. Some are awful, but “Viva” (shown here) has glitter, Ann-Margret and lots of vibrant music, led by the title song. There’s even a rare nod to Presley’s R&B roots, when he sings “What’d I Say?”
2) Cartoon overload. August has just begun, so there’s plenty of time for kids (and others) to watch cartoons. Freeform has fun ones: “Bolt” (2008) at 5 p.m., “Toy Story 2” (1999) at 7 and “Hotel Transylvania 2” (2015) at 9. FX picks up that last story with “Hotel Transylvania 3”(2018) at 6 and midnight; it also has “Despicable Me 3” (2017) at 8 and 10. FXX has “The Simpsons from 5-8 p.m., in a cartoon marathon that starts at 11:30 a.m.
3) “Roswell, New Mexico,” 8 p.m., CW. At the core is Liz, played by Jeanine Mason, the former “So You Think You Can Dance’ champion). An educated scientist, she keeps being upended by the phenomena in her Roswell home town. Now – with missing friends and abundant mysteries – she returns to fringe science and finds a revelation. That’s followed at 9 by “In the Dark,” with Murphy facing a growing vendetta by Josh.
4) “Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted,” 8 p.m., National Geographic Channel. With its “Shark Fest” programming now sliding to Nat Geo Wild, this channel is onto other adventures. Ramsay visits Wales at 8 p.m. … Bear Grylls takes Simu Liu (the “Shang-Chi” star) on a “Running Wild” adventure in the Canadian Rockies at 9 and Big Moe Cason is in Colombia at 10. Those rerun from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.; other “Uncharted” reruns start at 4 p.m.
5) ALSO: At 9 p.m., cable gives us two strong dramas. HBO starts the second season of “Industry,” with young financial schemers in London. AMC has four episodes remaining for “Better Call Saul,” its “Breaking Bad” sequel; tonight’s show (rerunning at 10:17) sees a new player get in the game.
