1) “Malcolm X” (1992), 12:58 p.m., Sundance; and 3 p.m., TNT. Black History Month finds two marathons, both led by Spike Lee’s masterpiece, with Denzel Washington as the civil-right leader (shown here). Both channels also share “Ghosts of Mississippi” (1996); it’s 6 a.m. on TNT and 5:30 p.m. on Sundance, which then has “The Color Purple” (1996) and “Rosewood” (1997) at 8:30 and midnight. TNT has “Selma” (2014) at 12:15 p.m., “Black Panther” (2018) at 7:15 and “Just Mercy” (2019) at 10.
2) Winter Olympics. Primetime has live coverage on two channels. NBC (8-11:30 p.m.) has team figure-skating, with the men’s free-style and women’s short programs; the USA Network (7:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.) has slopestyle snowboard — finals for women and qualifying runs for men. USA also has women’s hockey – the U.S. and Russia – live at 8:10 a.m. and taped at 5 p.m. More taped events are on USA in the daytime and NBC from 2-6 p.m., in prime time and midnight to 1:30 a.m.
3) More sports. It’s a three-network sports tangle in primetime. NBC has the Olympics, Fox (7 p.m.) has boxing and ABC (8:30) has basketball, with the LeBron James’ Lakers hosting the Knicks.
4) “Great Chocolate Showdown,” 8 p.m., CW. Last week’s pleasantly adequate opener introduced 10 home bakers and ousted one of them, a casino consultant. Now the others face two challenges – incorporating everyday items and concocting something that uses fruit.
5) Drama reruns. At 8 p.m., CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles” reruns its season-opener, with the team scrambling to find an informant whose life may be in danger. At 9, CBS’ “SWAT” sees a rich man hire mercenaries to help him elude arrest for a Ponzi scheme; also, Fox’s “Cleaning Lady” finds anger and violence surrounding the wedding of the crime boss’ daughter.
