Repeating a trick it learned during the pandemic, ABC will have two reality shows on consecutive nights this fall.
It will be “Dancing With the Stars” on Mondays and an extra “The Bachelorette” – right after the summer one– on Tuesdays.
The latter will provide a lead-in for a promising drama-with-music: “Queens” (shown here) at 10 p.m. Tuesdays, has Eve and Brandy in a story of a former hip-hop band, re-uniting.
With the strong reality push in the fall, ABC can hold several shows until mid-season. That includes the final season of “Black-ish,” plus “American Idol,” a “Women in the Movement” mini-series and two new shows – “Abbott Elementary” and “Maggie.”
For the fall, only new shows will be “Queens” and a reboot of “The Wonder Years,” now focusing on a Black family in 1960s Montgomery, Ala.
Other shifts give “Big Sky” a strong timeslot at 10 p.m. Thursdays and turn “Celebrity Wheel of of Fortune” a Sunday series. Canceled shows include “Mixed-ish,” “American Housewife,” “Call Your Mother” and “Rebel.” The line-up:
