1) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Here’s a top music guest – Bruce Springsteen (shown here), in his fourth time on the show. The host is Timothee Chalamet, who was Oscar-nominated for “Call Me By Your Name,” co-starred in “Little Women” … and was born 20 years after Springsteen’s “Born to Run.”
2) “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman,” 8 and 9 p.m., CBS. In a late change, CBS has put these two classics together tonight. (It had previouly scheduled a “Frosty” rerun for 9, but left the 8 p.m. slot open. That’s on a day filled with animation. Freeform has the great “Toy Story” trilogy, at 4:50, 6:50 amd 8:55 p.m. FX has the animated “Grinch” movie at 8 and 10 p.m., preceded by the fun “Sing” at 6 p.m. and other cartoon films, starting at 9 a.m.
3) “Ellen’s Game of Games,” 8 p.m., NBC. It’s a night of game-show reruns for NBC – first this show and then “The Wall.”
4) Sports rush, everywhere. Soccer gets a primetime moment, with Columbus and Seattle going for the MLS championship. That’s at 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox, with pre-game at 8, on a day overrun with football. ABC has Oklahoma (ranked No. 11) at Washington at noon ET, North Carolina (No. 17) at Miami (No. 10) at 3:30 and Southern Cal (No. 15) at UCLA at 7:30. CBS has the Army-Navy classic at 3 p.m.
5) ALSO: New holiday films arrive at 7 p.m. on Ion, 8 p.m. on Lifetime and 10 p.m. on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. There’s also holiday fun with “Elf” (7 and 9 p.m., AMC) and the “Santa Clause” films (10:05 a.m., 12:15 and 2:45 p.m. on Freeform). And the second hour of “Baby Chimp Rescue” – filled with earnest humans and cute chimps – is at 8 p.m. and 1:15 a.m. ET on BBC America.
