1) “The Godfather” (1972), 5 p.m., AMC. It’s a slow night for TV series, but a great one for movies. Topping the list is Francis Coppola’s richly crafted mobster epic (shown here with Marlon Brando. It’s No. 2 on the American Film Institute’s all-time list, trailing only “Citizen Kane” … and “Godfather, Part II” (1974) – which follows at 9 p.m. – is No. 32, the only sequel on the 100-movie list.
2) More movies: A can’t-miss movie night has “An American in Paris” (1951) – No. 9 on the AFI’s all-time musicals list — at 8 p.m. ET on Turner Classic Movies. Other strong choices: “Red” (2010), 7 p.m., Showtime; and “Little Women” (2019), 8:27 p.m., Starz. Freeform has animation, with “Kung Fu Panda” films at 3:55 (2008) and 5:35 (2011) and “Despicable Me” ones at 7:40 (2010) and 9:45 (2013).
3) “NCIS: Los Angeles,” 8 p.m., CBS. This reruns the episode that introduced Moon Bloodgood (“Falling Skies”) as the mysterious Katherine Casillas. She shows up after an art theft and seems to know a lot about the black market; she returned five times during this past season.
4) “SEAL Team,” 9 p.m., CBS. This is one place you really don’t want to be trapped – inside a torpedo tube, in a submarine, off thecoast of North Korea. That’s where Sonny is, in this rerun; the team tries to rescue him.
5) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Harrry Styles has become a pretty good actor (“Dunkirk”), as well as a terrific singer. In this rerun, he adds his first turn as host. He doubles as music guest, which he’d done three times previously, twice as part of One Direction.
