1) Figure skating, 8-11 p.m., NBC. Here are the women’s finals, choosing a 2020 champion.(Shown hereis Alysa Liu, who was last year’s winner at 13.) The guys, as usual don’t get prime time; they’ll have their short programs from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday and their finals from 3-6 p.m. Sunday. Those are on NBC; there’s more on the NBC Sports Network and via streaming.
2) “Country Music,” 9-11 p.m. PBS. Two immense talents linked (indirectly) one night in a Nashville bar. Charlie Dick heard a new song by a young Texan, Willie Nelson. So here – wrapping up the second straight Friday of CBS reruns – is the episode that opened the 10th season: Frank (Tom Selleck), the police commissioner, tries to help a former police partner whose daughter was arrested. Meanwhile, Frank’s sons have missions: Danny and his partner are probing a year-old murder case; Jamie and Eddie (his wife and former police partner) are looking for a new apartment.
5) “Shrill,” any time, Hulu. Aidy Bryant has it both ways – continuing on “Saturday Night Live” while also making this short-run series during her summer breaks. (It’s an approach that Kate McKinnon will also be doing with Hulu.) Here’s the second season, with Annie (Bryant) trying to remake a life that’s seen her get little respect at work or in romance. Also streaming today, Netflix has the new tales of Sabrina, the teen-age witc
