I’d been watching some fairly good dramas – shows (NBC’s “The Village,” CBS’ “The Code,” CW’s “In the Dark”) that try hard and have their moments.
Then I saw the season-finale for “This Is Us.” Man …. that, very simply, is great television.
Each of the other dramas has some scenes that work beautifully and some that don’t. For “This Is Us,: every scene seemed true and real; many were also deeply moving.
The best moments, as usual, centered around Sterling K. Brown (shown here) as Randall. There was the one with his foster daughter lecturing him about his life … And the ones with his wife Beth … And, most of all, the final minute or so of the season.
I won’t spoil anything, except to say this: If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure you do.
